Dark Souls 2 Seamless Co-op Incoming, Set to Transform the Divisive RPG

Modder LukeYui, renowned for revolutionizing multiplayer in Elden Ring and other FromSoftware titles, has announced the development of Seamless Co-op for Dark Souls II. Despite its reputation as the oddball of FromSoftware’s catalog, Dark Souls II’s unique quirks—like abundant lifegems, unconventional level design, and the adaptability stat—make it a compelling revisit. Now, with Yui’s mod on the horizon, it’s an ideal time to explore or return to Drangleic.

Yui’s Seamless Co-op mod, a fan-favorite with nine million downloads for Elden Ring alone, enhances multiplayer by removing the series’ typical restrictions. It maintains persistent sessions through deaths, boss fights, and teleports, eliminating the need to resummon players. Fogwalls are gone, and progress syncs smoothly for up to six players, making co-op more accessible and fluid. The mod also introduces optional difficulty tweaks, such as boosted enemy stats, friendly fire, or constant PvP invasions, catering to varied playstyles.

Currently in early development, the Dark Souls II Seamless Co-op mod is being worked on alongside Yui’s other projects, with updates promised via Patreon. This mod promises to transform the game’s multiplayer, much like its predecessors, offering a seamless way to experience Dark Souls II with friends. As anticipation builds for Elden Ring’s Nightreign, this mod provides a perfect opportunity to dive into FromSoftware’s world cooperatively.
