A recent leak has revealed that Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will feature Skirk, Citlali, Mavuika, and Yelan as the 5-Star banner characters. With a shift towards more frequent Chronicled Banners, it seems Genshin Impact will prioritize popular characters for Event Banners moving forward. While this may prove profitable in the long run, some players have voiced their frustration over the constant stream of Event Banners.
Version 5.6 continues this trend, offering Escoffier and Navia in the first half, with Kinich and Raiden in the second half. Navia remains a strong Geo character, thanks to new additions like Xilonen, while Kinich stands out as one of the best Dendro characters since Alhaitham. Meanwhile, Escoffier is poised to usher in a new era for Freeze teams, with ties to Version 5.7.
According to Firefly Leaks, Skirk and Citlali will headline the first half of Version 5.7’s banners, while Mavuika and Yelan will take the spotlight in the second half. Though these banner lineups are always subject to change during beta, such changes haven’t occurred since early Fontaine. Skirk is expected to be the most valuable character in Version 5.7, though she requires a higher level of investment compared to Mavuika, who offers more versatility in team compositions. Skirk, however, is designed to be a Freeze hypercarry, limiting her to specific team builds.
Upcoming 5-Star Characters for Genshin Impact Version 5.7

Skirk (5-Star Cryo Sword), Citlali (5-Star Cryo Catalyst), Mavuika (5-Star Pyro Claymore), and Yelan (5-Star Hydro Bow) are the confirmed 5-Star banner characters for Genshin Impact Version 5.7. An interesting detail is that Yelan is considered one of Skirk’s best teammates, which could make her appearance in the same update quite costly for players. This trend is also seen with Mavuika and Citlali, which seems to be a strategy by HoYoverse to boost profits for Version 5.7’s Event Banners. However, this tactic could be tough on Skirk fans, as Escoffier from Version 5.6 is also one of her ideal teammates. Players looking to fully invest in Skirk might need to spend up to 540 Intertwined Wishes over the course of two updates, while free-to-play players can only earn about 115 Intertwined Wishes.

As for 4-Star characters in Version 5.7, the details remain unclear, but the leak suggests Dahlia will join Skirk and Citlali in the first half. There’s also speculation about a new Hydro Support character arriving in Version 5.8, who may serve as a replacement for Yelan in Skirk teams. This situation could mirror the early Natlan setup with Kazuha and Xilonen. Version 5.7 is expected to launch on June 18, 2025.
