A Leaked Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Rerun Banner Concerns Me.

Leaked Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 rerun banners worry me, especially considering some characters are treated differently. The HoYoverse turn-based RPG will enter its third year with Version 3.0 in mid-January 2025 if the six-week patch schedule is not delayed. Mystery’s new destination, Amphoreus, awaits players in the next update. Honkai: Star Rail players can meet new Amphoreus characters and join the Eternal Land story arc.

New campaign missions and playable characters—three are announced for Version 3.0—will dominate the patch. All campaign participants will receive the Remembrance Trailblazer, while the Herta and Aglaea are premium units. Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will feature repeat banners, but the focus should be on the new characters and Remembrance as a playable Path.

Allegedly Leaked Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Rerun Banners

The supposed Version 3.0 rerun characters leaked before the early January webcast. Seele Leaks said Phase 1 rerun banners will star Jade, Feixiao, and Lingsha, while Phase 2 banners will feature Robin, Boothill, and Silver Wolf. The leak was posted on Reddit as “Reliable”. This would give gamers access to six rerun characters in one patch, a first for Honkai: Star Rail.

For reference, the game has seen triple rerun banners before. HoYoverse developed a triple warp event with the characters Kafka, Black Swan, and Robin in Version 2.5. Players choose a premium 5-star character and pull toward attaining it. Players could still lose the 50/50 like any other character banner, but they had three rerun characters to pick from in a banner phase. It appears this structure will be reproduced in both banner phases of Honkai: Star Rail 3.0.

Robin May Return To Honkai: Star Rail

Leaked Phase 1 banners for Version 3.0 are great news because all three characters will return for the first time since their launches. This is the first chance for players who missed them on their first runs. The issue is the leaked Phase 2 rerun banners, specifically Robin. Robin is a strong and popular support character; thus, HoYoverse should rerun her in Honkai: Star Rail again, but it’s too soon.

Robin was released in May 2024 as Version 2.2 and reran in September as Version 2.5. Robin received precedence over numerous characters overdue a repeat in the turn-based RPG due to the overwhelming number of premium 5-star troops. Still, it made sense given her importance for follow-up team compositions, a team structure that led the meta in combat. This allowed players who missed her the first time to get her for Feixiao’s Honkai: Star Rail team compositions.

The release of Feixiao, Moze, and Lingsha, who use this mechanism, boosted follow-up attack team comps around Version 2.5. The game previously added March 7th (Hunt) and Yunli, who have new attack techniques.

Robin will rerun again soon after her Version 2.5 rerun if the Version 3.0 banner leak is correct. Remember that this year’s content finishes with Version 2.7. Therefore, Robin would reappear only three patches after her previous gacha banner appearance. Robin is one of the most valuable Harmony characters in the game, but she receives too much attention at the expense of other Honkai: Star Rail characters who have long been waiting for a rerun.

Robin’s Banners Rival Honkai: Star Rail Reruns

Many older characters have been waiting for banner reruns. They may not be as strong or popular as Robin, but they need attention. Most aggravated is Dr. Ratio. The Path of the Hunt 5-star Imaginary character debuted in Version 1.6 banners and was free to all players between 1.6 and 2.1. He has never appeared in banners again. Honkai: Star Rail locks new players out of Dr. Ratio, which is a concern.

Other characters need replays, even though Dr. Ratio’s case is ludicrous. Yunli and Jiaoqiu, who debuted in Version 2.4, must also rerun banners. Both characters are strong and should be allowed to be pulled for, even though they are not as important for the meta. Ruan Mei in Honkai: Star Rail is another great Robin-like character.

With Firefly’s rerun and Fugue’s release in Version 2.7, both focusing on Break Effect, a Ruan Mei rerun in Version 3.0 would be a great choice from HoYoverse. The 5-star Ice Harmony character is crucial to Break DMG team comps. Players may create one of the finest team comps in the game with it.

Robin’s steady reruns, small gaps between appearances, and other 5-star characters’ long absences make me worry about the future. This is especially true as the roster grows. Robin’s treatment clarifies that some characters aren’t a priority for HoYoverse, so we question if we should pull for them before they disappear off Honkai: Star Rail’s banners for months or years.
