We don’t have to wait for Hollywood to give Grand Theft Auto the live-action treatment, so we can rejoice or something like that. There are already fan-made videos that are hilariously replicating some of the most memorable moments from Grand Theft Auto 5, and a couple of these videos have even attracted the notice of the actor Ned Luke, who plays Michael De Santa.
TGG, a YouTube channel that focuses on Grand Theft Auto, has started uploading a variety of films to their social media accounts in an effort to recreate several different moments from GTA 5 as accurately as possible. The following films were shot on location in Los Angeles, and they include three actors who, in a pleasant manner, break character while re-enacting sequences and language from the original game. More particularly, they focus on the initial meeting between Michael and Franklin, as well as the memetic moment in which players crash a blimp to trigger a cutscene. Have a good chuckle and have a look at it.
According to the social media account of TGG, the crew was able to capture “hours of footage” during their recent trip to Los Angeles. This is a promising indicator that there will be further humorous recreations in the future. The creepy faces associated with Rockstar Games, the camera angles that will be used in the game itself, and the real performers are the only things that are lacking from the project. The crew, thankfully, has the next best thing available to them.
One of the videos was retweeted by Ned Luke, who portrays Michael, a former criminal lord and a family guy who is falling apart in Grand Theft Auto 5. He appended five-star emojis to the message and gave his endorsement. Specifically, he writes, “Are you guys going to redo the entire game?”
GTA 5 All Cutscenes compilations may last anywhere from four to fourteen hours, depending on the length of the project. Watching TechGirls stumble through classic scenes from Grand Theft Auto 5 should help relieve the long, long wait for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in the near year. I am not certain that TechGirls has enough material to put together a whole GTA 5 parody film.
