The dev team behind Dune: Awakening has confirmed that while the game has launched on PC, console players must wait a bit. In a press release earlier today, Funcom reinforced their commitment to bringing Arrakis to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with a targeted release window toward the end of 2026.
The PC version, released June 10, 2025, has already seen strong engagement—peaking at over 135,000 concurrent players on Steam—and serves as Funcom’s “buy once, own it” flagship, free of subscriptions or microtransactions . Casuals and hardcore gamers alike are digging into the survival MMO’s rich sandbox of sandstorm-ravaged deserts and political intrigue.
Console Launch Delayed to 2026

Funcom clarified that no firm console launch date has been set yet, but it’s aiming for “sometime in 2026,” likely in the latter half of the year . Official word on which specific platforms—PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or perhaps others—is still pending, though both major consoles are expected to eventually get versions.
In the meantime, console players will have to watch from the dunes as PC gamers stake their claim on Arrakis. Funcom plans to support the game with a season pass and four DLC packs, rolling out through Q2‑2026, along with free updates and content enhancements .
We’ll be keeping our giant sandworms close for news and will update you when Funcom confirms a concrete console drop date. Until then, console fans, patience is your weapon.
