Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the fourth game in the series, may intimidate newcomers. Each game in the Thedas fantasy RPG series continues the story. Even though Dragon Age: Origins started in 2009, The Veilguard will be the first mainstream game in 10 years, which might attract new gamers.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will continue the tale from Dragon Age: Inquisitions and its DLCs at the end of October. New player character takes over protagonist’s role. The upcoming Dragon Age game will include various modifications to gameplay and features, including fighting systems. Along with elves, dwarves, and humans, Qunari are now playable.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Can Be Played Alone
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Creative Director John Epler told Game Informer, “One of the things we wanted to make sure with Veilguard is that it’s respectful and referential to previous games without feeling like you needed to have played Inquisition, or [Dragon Age 2] or [Dragon Age: Origins] to understand what’s going on.” Despite numerous references to earlier games, the game will give enough background for newcomers to appreciate the plot.
Eppler said that “Historically, Dragon Age has always had a different cast per game, so that gives us a lot of freedom in terms of what we want to lean on in the past, and what we want to bring in that’s new and forward-facing.” The Veilguard is its own tale.
In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, choices carry over.
While certain decisions from prior games may continue over, players can chose these outcomes in the character builder, which can make new players feel more comfortable.
The Veilguard should still appeal to veteran fans of the game who are acquainted with the location, narrative, and characters, but producers are aware that this experience will introduce new players to the RPG. Dragon Age: The Veilguard may be played alone, although fans can explore the plot in prior games, novels, and more.
